Williams, Thomas (1805 to 1876)

Thomas Williams (Bn 1805 Plymouth D1876 St James’ Terrace) was a Commander/Lieutenant Royal Navy.  On the 1871 Census, he is Retired (Widow).  He had been married to Julianna (Bn 1811 D1867) (M1827).  He had six daughters (five of them still living with him in 1871 at 5 Palace Square), and one son.  In 1851, they were resident at HM Dockyard, Devonport.  At 5 Palace Square, he also had two Servants, Sarah Carew (aged 25) a Cook, and Mary Solmon (aged 20) a Housemaid.  One of his daughters, Augusta (Bn 1835), died at the Coton Hill Private Asylum For the Upper Classes, Stafford, in 1901 (opened 1854 closed 1976).  Thomas Williams, died at 5 St James’ Terrace, Palace Square, on 16 February 1876.
