Durban Street
The origin of the name for this road laid out at the end of the 19th century, was tied to the second Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902) and Britain’s colonial past. Durban was a critical port and base for the British forces and any urban development with a reference to it would trigger feelings of national pride and prestige.
