Stringer – 3 Hadlow Place

William Stringer (a Boiler Maker/Gas Fitter by trade) (Bn 1857 Birmingham) and his wife Eliza (M1880 Croydon).  His father had been a Blacksmith, Eliza’s father, a Labourer.  In 1881, they had an 18month daughter, Alice.

By 1911, they had moved to 4 Woodbine Grove, Penge with another daughter Emily, who worked for Cobbs, and three sons, two of whom (Arthur 17 and Alfred 14) worked at a Motor Factory, for a “Mr Tessier, making motors and helping mechanics, etc”.
