Gertrude Annie CROUCH (1900 – 1931)

Gertrude was a servant occupying 10 Harold Road at the time of the 1921 Census. She is shown then aged 21, born in Weyhill, Hants, and employed as a Parlourmaid.

Her father Harry CROUCH had been a soldier.

The 1911 Census shows a Gertrude Annie CROUCH living at Flinty Cottages, Clanville, Andover Hants. with her mother, Louisa CROUCH (41) (widow), and uncles William and Arthur HOPGOOD (ages 44 and 39) This Gertrude Annie is shown as born in Tangley, Hants.

Gertrude married Percy Henry TURLEY on 6 August 1923 at All Saints Church, Upper Norwood.

Gertrude died, after a short illness, on 31.8.1931 (she was then living at Church Road, Upper Norwood), and was buried at Elmers End Cemetery [i]
