Killed by enemy action on 8th March 1941

‘… March 8-9th had incidents from seventeen H.E bombs which did damage again to the areas round the “Black Horse” at Addiscombe Road, demolishing several houses in Black Horse Lane and Elmers Road and damaging other houses in Bingham, Tenterden and Dalmally Roads. A few bombs also fell at Norbury and Upper Norwood, in which latter place houses in Harold Road were wrecked. On this night seventeen delayed action bombs fell, most of them at Upper Norwood and in gardens.’
