Bill Davies lived at 60 Woodland Road in 1911 as a boarder, along with two other Crystal Palace players, A Hatton and J W Williams.
Davies was born in Newtown. He was the first CPFC player to be capped when he played for Wales at Dens Park, Dundee on 7 March 1908, against Scotland.
He made 207 appearances and scored 24 goals for CPFC between 1907 to 1915. He also played for Stoke, West Bromwich Albion, Rhayader, Llandrindod, Knighton and Shrewsbury Town.
