In 1861, aged 22, he was a Farm Servant in Finchampstead. They had a son Arthur William Coleman (Bn 1866 D1911 aged 45, buried at West Norwood Cemetery). George’s occupation at this time, was a Coachman.
In 1881 (Census), George was a Groom/Domestic Servant, and Ann, was a Domestic Cook/Servant, for a Major George Shuldham Peard (aged 51), a Major in the Army, at Grove House, Staplegrove, Taunton, Somerset. Their son Arthur (aged 15) was a Shop Boy/Grocers.
In 1901, George is a Coachman and Groom (aged 61) and Ann is 62, living at 2 Hadlow Place.
In 1911, he states he is a Domestic Coachman, Widower, aged 72. He had been married for 46 years, living in two rooms at 2 Hadlow Place.
