TOWLER – 44 Anerley Vale
Jane Towler (Bn 1836 D1896) Widow. She had married Charles Towler (Bn 1835 D1887) a Carman in 1855, Billericay, when he was a ‘Minor’. In 1861 and 1871, they were living at 3 Plummer’s Cottages, Woodland Road, with their four sons and two daughters (1871).
In 1881 Jane and Charles and their six children, were resident at 44 Anerley Vale, his occupation still a Carman.
By 1891, Jane was living nearby at 9 Hadlow Place with her son Henry (Bn 1871 ) (aged 19) a Fishmonger and Poulterer, and daughters Alice (aged 17) (a General Domestic Servant) and Charlotte (aged 15), plus Grandson Thomas (aged 14) also a Fishmonger and Poulterer.
