REID – 23 Anerley Vale

Fanny Reid and her husband William were resident at 23 Anerley Vale (4 Rooms) from at least the 1881 Census, and where daughter Maud was still resident in 1939. William was a Railway Porter at Crystal Palace Station. They had 7 children. Daughter Emily, was a Ward Maid at St Thomas’ Hospital (1891 Census), aged 27. Daughter Maud (Bn 1884) married Edward Darby (Bn 1877), a Stableman, who later worked for HL Ellis Builder, 8 Brunswick Place, Anerley Road (1921). Edward’s and Maud’s son William (Bn 1905), was a Baker’s Roundsman at Howletts, 1 Anerley Hill. In 1921, mother Fanny, aged 79 (Widow), was living with them at 23 Anerley Vale. Edward, Maud and their son William, were still resident at No 23 in 1939.
