POWIS – 29 Anerley Vale
Brinley Powis (Bn 1896 Wales) and his wife, Emma (Bn 1900) were living at 29 Anerley Vale in 1921 and also in 1939. His occupation was a Decorator’s Handyman. They had two sons, Alfred Edwin (Bn 1919) and Ronald Brinley (Bn 1921). Alfred married Susannah Pierce at Christ Church, Gipsy Hill, whilst he was on leave from the Royal Navy in 1941. His brother Ronald joined the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry. Both sons served in WW2 and both were sadly killed, aged 22 and 23.
