PAYNE (1871) 18 Anerley Vale
Jane Payne (Bn 1838 Chichester D1914) lived with her step parents in Westow Hill (1861). By 1871, they had moved to Anerley Vale. By 1881, she lived as a Lodger at No 2 Hadlow Place, Anerley Road and in 1901 at 4 Hadlow Place. Her occupation was a Dressmaker. She moved back to Anerley Vale as a Boarder in one room, at No 18 (1911 Census), aged 72 (Deaf). In 1851, she and her brother John (Bn 1840) were living with step-parents in Chichester, she a 13 year old Nursemaid. John volunteered when he was 16 (1856) and became a Royal Navy Seaman. In 1861 he was an Ordinary Seaman aboard HMS Desperate (a crew/officers/marines of 169).
