KING (1871 onwards) 17 & 29 Anerley Vale
Edwin King (Bn 1836 D1894 aged 57 ). He married Sarah (Bn 1837 D1906) in September 1861, in Croydon, when he was a Railway Porter at Crystal Palace Railway Station (joined in 1859, aged 23), earning 18 shillings per week.
His father’s occupation was a Farmer and Sarah’s father, a Carman.
Son Edwin (Bn 1863 D1935) became a Baker/Breadmaker, working for WT Rowden, Bakers, 40 Anerley Road. He married Annie Tripp (father Lowing Tripp, a Blacksmith of Anerley Vale) in 1890 at All Saints Church and lived at 28 Anerley Vale.
Son John (Bn 1869) married Fanny at All Saints in 1893, his occupation a Milkman and in 1896 were living at 21 Barnfield Road [now Bristow Road]. In 1911, John and Fanny were living at 10 South Vale (5 rooms).
His brother Richard (Bn 1875 D1909) (a Gardner), married to Agnes (1899), with one daughter, lived at No 4 Barnfield Road (1901). In 1911, Agnes (a Widow), occupation, Domestic Service, lived at 25 Anerley Vale (4 Rooms), with two daughters, Dorothy and Daisy, and two sons, Leslie Richard and John Edwin. Their son, John Edwin King, lived at 34 Anerley Vale in 1929.
